Yellowstone Llamas

Yellowstone Llamas

Yellowstone Llamas is the first licensed llama outfitting company in Yellowstone National Park, founded in 1984 by long-time llama breeders, Renée and Will Gavin of Bozeman, MT. Susi bought her first llama, Yellowstone Gambit, from the Gavins in 1994. The rest, as they say, is history. In 2006, we purchased Yellowstone Llamas from Renée and Will and continued to offer exceptional llama treks in Yellowstone's magnificent backcountry to this day. As always, we look forward to another exciting season (our 15th!) with our llamas and guests from around the country and the world.

Yellowstone Llamas offers both Single Day Hikes and Multi-Day Pack Trips through wild landscapes in the company of charming llamas who carry our gear. On our treks, guided by experienced naturalists and llama handlers, you will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of Yellowstone National Park and the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem, its wildlife, history, and geology.  In addition, with our Llamas4Llove program, we give back to the human and animal communities by participating in Charity Events and Llama Rescue. So we invite you to join us for a unique experience: a backcountry pack trip or a delightful picnic hike in Yellowstone National Park. Pack your load on a llama and explore the countryside in a responsible and sustainable way, with your long-eared hiking buddy at your side. Beautiful trails winding through awesome landscapes beckon to be discovered by you! Everybody leads a llama. Our treks are suitable for families and young children as well as adults of any age.

If you don't have time for a hike but would like to meet the llamas, call us for a Farm Visit.
