A message from Chris:
In 2010, after a wrist operation in Spokane, (WA State) and just 2 hours after my wife (Tammy) got me home from the surgery I dropped dead – my heart just turned off. Tammy performed CPR, called 911 and the Fire/Paramedics took over shortly after they got to our house. I ended up in Spokane Sacred Heart Hospital – who in turn froze my body for 4 days and implanted a Defibrillator/Pacemaker on day 5. Been right-as-rain ever since.
The following year I rode my bicycle across the width of WA State in 3 days, and raised money for Spokane's Sacred Heart hospital as a “Thank You”. The year after that I rode from Spokane to the Canadian Rockies and back in 5 day (500 miles) – and raised money for the Spokane Fire Station as a “Thank You”. In 2017 (my last ride) I rode the length of Utah, a roundabout route of 555 miles in 5 days and raised money for the North Davis Fire Station in Clearfield UT – just to Thank Fire/Paramedic Folks for what they do on a day-to-day basis.
This year, in June, I'm riding from Glacier to Yellowstone to raise money for the Gardiner Volunteer Fire Station. It will be a total of 456 miles from Going to the Sun Road to Mammoth Hot Springs.
